various sizes up to 600mm long X 320mm high, all 100mm thick
A collection based on sketches and photographs taken in Finisterre in 1986 of registration letters and numerals seen on decommissioned fishing vessels. These heavily stylised letterforms were particular to the Western peninsulas of Brittany and became a letter carving project and the subject of an article in issue 29 of Forum, the journal of Letter Exchange. These pieces, in association with the numerals forming part of the same project, are available for exhibition in maritime & lettering contexts.
